Creating Vibrant Art Lessons: A Teacher's Sketchbook is a visually engaging educational resource brought to life through digital illustration. This project involved using a Wacom tablet to transform hand-drawn iconography, diagrams, and lesson plan visuals into polished digital artwork. The book blends playful drawings with thoughtful design to make art lessons more engaging and easy to follow. In the appendix, there are hand-drawn annotations to give extra context and insight into the creative process. It’s a playful mix of art and teaching tools, designed to spark inspiration and make lesson planning a little more fun for educators.
After wrapping up the illustrations, I worked closely with the author to build a custom WordPress website to support the book launch. The site showcased the illustrations and iconography, shared teaching resources, and created a space for educators to connect. The project came full circle in the most meaningful way—when the author got the icons from the book tattooed on her forearm. It was a pretty incredible moment that showed just how personal and powerful the creative process had been.
